Question 1

How does wta help me?

Accepted Answer

We help you choose the program, country, city and school, then handle enrolment, accommodation and insurance, guide you through the visa for your passport, and stay in touch while you're abroad.

Question 2

Why does my passport matter?

Accepted Answer

Each country sets its own rules by nationality. Your passport decides whether you need a visa, how long you can stay and whether you can work while you study. That's why every page on this site adapts to the passport you choose.

Question 3

I have two nationalities. Which passport should I choose?

Accepted Answer

Choose the one you plan to travel with. If you hold an EU passport, it usually opens more options in Europe, such as working without a visa. Talk to us and we'll compare both for your plans.

Question 4

Can I work while I study?

Accepted Answer

In some countries, yes, usually part-time and only on certain courses. It depends on the country and your passport. Open any destination to see the rules for you, or see our Study & work program.

Question 5

How far in advance should I plan?

Accepted Answer

For language courses, three to six months is comfortable. For degrees and high school, start nine to twelve months ahead, because of application deadlines and visas.

Question 6

Do I need to speak the language already?

Accepted Answer

Not for language courses: schools take students from beginner level. Degrees and high school usually ask for a minimum level, often shown with a test such as IELTS or TOEFL. We'll help you plan for it.

Question 7

How much does it cost?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the country, city, school, duration and accommodation. After our first conversation we send you a clear, itemised quote so you can compare options.

Question 8

Do you have programs for teens and for people over 50?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Teens can join summer programs or a high school exchange, and travellers over 50 have language and culture programs designed for them. Tell us who's travelling and the site shows the programs that fit.

Question 9

Who will I be talking to?

Accepted Answer

A wta advisor who follows your plans from the first conversation until you're back home. We speak Portuguese and English.
